Informing Peach Members
Speach is the bi-monthly magazine for Peach members.
Speach is provided as part of the membership subscription and contains valuable information and research articles that are highly valued by parent and professional members alike.
Apart from putting parents in touch with tutors, we pass on heart-warming stories from our families and practical tips from Case Managers that can give parents an enormous boost when they are feeling very low.
Speach also keeps you up to date with:
- Autism and ABA campaigns
- Research – national and international
- Changes in government legislation e.g. Green Paper on SEN which, if accepted, would radically change the way ABA and other provisions are funded
- Changes in Local Authorities’ approaches to SEN and ABA e.g. the current moves to review statements which seem to be aimed at reducing funding
- Peach working with health authorities and NICE
- Autism in the News, with links to stories on the web
- Awareness-raising about ABA and autism e.g. Peach clinicians currently targeting training at nurseries and Sure Start centres
The point is that your views colour everything we do, and gives Peach a stronger voice. Because if only one or two people say anything when things are wrong, the authorities will think that what they are doing doesn’t matter very much. If you tell us what you think, we know who to approach and how to pass on the message with the weight of opinion from our members.
