There have been many studies of behavioural intervention, which demonstrate the effectiveness of ABA for improving a wide range of skills in both children and adults with autism. The most thorough body of research comes from the pioneering work of Dr O Ivar Lovaas and his colleagues who employed an early intensive behavioural treatment for children at The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
